Text Box: What to Expect from I-ENG-A®
Text Box: The cost of settling a claim has escalated tremendously over the past few decades. In many instances, it has become a prudent practice for the claims representative to call an engineer to gather facts, perform investigations and develop professional opinions. When physical evidence is obtained as part of an investigation, it must be properly documented, analyzed and secured as soon as possible to avoid spoliation. Parties must be put on notice for proper laboratory examination. And, a chain of custody must be maintained at all times.

Our experienced members have participated in hundreds of thousands of engineering investigations involving many billions of dollars in potential claims. The Investigative Engineers Association’s database of information often reveals products having recurrent issues. The I-ENG-A network has licensed laboratories available for metallurgical testing, forensic x-ray analysis, chemical analysis, soot sampling, water sampling, gas chromatography with mass spectrometry and microbial analysis. Members are also supported with learning about the latest technology via the national conventions held annually for its association members to stay on the leading edge
